IT Demand Manager in Parsippany, NJ

Responsibilities As a senior member of the planning and strategy team, you will be responsible for developing, instituting and maintaining a demand management process that can be extended throughout the IT organization. The demand manager will ultimately be responsible for having a macro view of all demand for projects in investments technology. To achieve success, the demand manager will interact with project and resource managers to facilitate support and analyze requests for current and future projects. Once project resources are assigned, the demand manager will monitor and continuously review resource assignments against projected needs. In addition, the demand manager will review and manage the consulting resources and create plans and processes to manage resource allocations and multiple vendor relationships, including offshore firms. Finally the demand manager is responsible for tracking trends in resource allocations to project future demand and summarize findings to senior management. When necessary, you will support teams in establishing a case for additional resources, and conversely, identify potential instances of underutilization and actively work with department leads to address and solve those issues. ? Develop, deploy and manage a new demand management process within Investments Technology (long-term demand, short-term demand, resource management) ? Understand employee skill sets and match the skill set required with projects ? Govern all estimates and changes throughout the life-cycle of a project ? Partner with business relations management, resource managers, and project managers on demand planning and forecasting assumptions, analysis and decisions ? Generate and communicate monthly project re-forecasting and overall status ? Develop and measure key performance indicators/metrics to track and evaluate forecasts, to assist in assessing the effectiveness of demand planning and forecasting, and to work towards continuous improvement ? Develop, implement and use tools and technology for managing and analyzing the project portfolio ? Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders, including vendors Minimum experience? BS/BA in computer science, business management or related position ? Practical background in IT Resource Demand Management and planning/forecasting ? Expertise to understand project resource demand requirements and balance these against existing capacity ? Background managing vendor relationships ? Advanced Ms excel (macros, pivot tables, advanced formulas) ? Must have outstanding judgment, critical thinking, and time organizational skills ? Clear, authoritative, professional communications (listening, oral and written communications) and presentation skills ?
